The overall objective of the SMART WALK project is to encourage a healthy lifestyle through nature-based sport. The intention is to develop new organizational approaches among organisations, to share good practices, to develop new methods and programs implemented by the partners on how to increase the number of young people in outdoor and nature-based sports to promote sport and physical activity as tools for health, to combat climate change and to change the perspective of living in rural areas. The project pathway leads to the development of digital tools to incite, intrigue and stimulate young people to take up the sport of trekking.
The project process thus aims to achieve the following specific objectives:
To increase the quality of work of organizations through exchanges of good practice
To develop a cultural identity and natural heritage of the areas involved
To increase transversalskills, in particular, digital and team building skills, of the youth target group involved through the practice of trekking
Incentivising a healthy and more sustainable approach to the environment
to promote the European label and the Erasmus Plus program in geographically disadvantaged countries
SMART WALK will reproduce the following results – experiential community platform for trekking – interactive information brochures/infographics on trekking equipment and the different levels of trekking – interactive information brochures/infographics on how to find your way around forests and trails without having to use your smartphone – interactive information brochures/infographics on various nature sports, the benefits of nature sports with a focus on trekking – Video testimonials of the young people involved in the project
